.............Steve Ballmer is an idiot, and Bill Gates is.........
Ok, so you are wondering why I started this way, let me explain. Who has seen Pirates of Silicon Valley? Well in my opinion, they gave a good reason why Ballmer has run Microsoft in to the ground (they potrat him as a stupid goon) and as for Bill Gates, I felt so bad for him. Come on, "What is your SAT score?" What pick up line is that? In any case, it was a good movie. :)

Onlive.
You know, if done properly, this could be the game changer. Just as Nintendo raised the bar in the 80's, Sony in the 90's, and Microsoft at the turn of the century, Onlive could revoulutionize not only the gaming space, but the online cloud space as well. And, if I hope, the developing process is easy, if not open-source, it could provide a flurry of fun. On top of that , if they expand on that and make it a cloud appliance, then all of the entertainment industry should be afraid. First newspapers, then tv, video games, and nexts, who knows?
Zero Point Energy., and alternatives.
You might be thinking, what does that have to do with elcertonics? Well, nothing, and everything. If we can create an unlimited amount of energy from free air, well, we could lower cost and provide amenities to many people who otherwise might not. And so without further to do, I will explain the origin of ZPE(Zero point energy) The notion has been around probably longer that this, but this is when it came close to reality. In the late 19th, early 20th century, there was a man by the name of Nikkola Tesla. He came up with a way to spread energy freely, basically by emmitting electrons into the air. And to please his investor, JP Morgan, he would also emmit picture, sound, and other entertainment. But Marconi beat him to the punch, through using Tesla patents, and created the radio. So without funds, he quit making the project. Now back to the world of today. I do not think that it would be a good idea to put electons in the atmosphere, but there are some other good ideas, that could work. For instance, why don't we have a system, where carbon could be injected into a tree, thus giving off oxygen, then with that oxygen, we could smash it, and produce unlimited amounts of energy? Or what about magnet energy? I know this might seem a little out there, but windmills and solar pannels, although a part of the solution, will not fully be the end all. So, as we consider our future, lets consider ZPE, and other sources of energy.

Three things that are annoying about Facebook
1. People posting parts of songs: Look I know people like their music, but this is as bad as karoake in the shower (not that I would know ;) ) , but please. Has Facebook become that bad?
2. People posting religious stuff: I don't consider myself religious, but I am a Christian. But even though I am, I find it very annoying. I am wondering how YOU are doing, not what verse is on you mind. Sheesh, and if those were not enough, this will:
3: Deleting your account: Now if you get ititated with the first two, and 101 other reasons to quit Facebook, and decide to delete your account, then you are basically out of luck. You have to wait two weeks! And then you can delete it.....oh brother. (Note: I actually like Facebook, but I do get irritated with the first two.)

3 Things I Miss
I did not grow up in the 90's, but whatever. Here are things that have died in the 2000's, which I miss dearly:
1. Fansites. I know that there are a few still around, but alot of them have moved on. While other things are great, such as cbr's, roms, and torrents, this is one thing I will miss.
2. Great action games/Great third party support. I might be a little to bit into this genre, but I love them. When the Wii came out, I was very intrested. But as time wore on, it became apparent that the games( with the exception of a few) were horrible. I am glad that Nintendo is making money, but I miss games like SMB3 for the GBA, Sim City 3000 and 4 for the pc, and others which were awesome. I am glad that I discovered roms, so I don't get bored with the crap they are making!
3. Intresting test demos. What..... I know this seems a little bit odd, but I miss the GC displays very much. Nothing against the NSMB, but nothing beats a test drive of Chibo-Robo!

About the Wii
Wii all can agrii (agree), the Wii has made a tremendous impact on the American (and other ) cultures. But the thing I still find lacking on it, is the third-party support. It has gotten so bad that the game 'Chicken Shoot' has appeared on the Wii (it deserves 1 cent!) I am not saying the Nintendo games are bad though (speaking of which, I was walking through Wal-Mart one day, and I saw a grown man playing NSMB, odd I know) But there would be two games that I could think of that could bolster the few good games on the platform: Time Crisis and Brave Firefighters. If those were brought to the system, along with maybe a few others, I think they could boost sales. But to their advantage the are bringing Netflixs online, and the new Sonic 4 look good( especially to all the crap on the Wiiware), and like I said before, it has a good first party lineup. My personal opinion about the Wii: the 360 is better because of the third part support, but also I would not buy one because all the good games you could play on the Wii, you could play on Dolphin. ;)

Arcades: Back From the Dead?
Well, this might be odd, but listen. If we are heading where we think we heading, I think they might come back into favor. With inflation becoming the inevitable, and consumers not buying as many games as they used to, and if inflation kills the dollar, we might be popping 25 cents , instead of 20 dollars, if we lose our spot in the world. If you need some evidence, consider this: during 1972, when pong came out, it was a game changer, yet it was still a recession. 1982, when it looked like the US was fading, Donkey Kong came out, and it was a hit. And so if the arcade makers like Capcom and Sega can innovate, which they have shown they can, this might change the video game industry as we know it. With extra cash flow, it could buy up smaller players, and take a larger chunk out of the industry. But, there is one way that video games, arcades, and even electronics could suffer. CAP and TRADE! With a almost abolition on carbon coming, via cap and trade, we will probably suffer the brunt end, along with the rest of the economy. Because half our power is produced by coal, which is carbon, prices of electricity will go up, the price of owning arcade will go up, which will throw small owners especially for a loop. And the individual system and electronics owner will suffer because you need electricity for the also. So while the future might look promising, it is as equally dangerous.

Emulators and roms.
Well, here is how you do it. you will need a emulator( a code decoder/ program to run roms, to decode the roms (or game code) just like you use Microsoft Word to decode Word docs. go to emulator-zone.com and you download the emulator you need .( like NES for NES games, and N64 for N64 games)K, know, you go to romulation.net ( since they have no viruses, but be aware some people do put viruses on there websites, and in there files, so be aware) and look for the roms( the game codes/games for the emulator) under there original system ( again like Atari) and download them. After they are done downloading, open up the emulator, then open the game you downloaded from the site in the emulator. Then that should be all. Happy emulating
Notes: not all roms are legal, but Oddessy-Dreamcast are, but newer ones are not. And besides, a lot of the newer roms cannot be run by the newer emulators, and besides, the only place you can find them in are the P2p sites, which are crawling with viruses. So download from (just suggestions) : romulation.net, theoldcomuter.com (lots of old computer games, and system games), and get-your-roms.com( lots of cool MP3's). But there is a few more things. Winrar, which I talked about in the "Pirate's Tool Belt" article, is use to compressed files, especially roms.It is used to open up the .rar files which contains the actual roms. And you sometime need different plug-ins, such as sound, video, or bios which you can get at the emuparadise.org. And while the roms might be legal under the DMC, the bios may not be. So approach with caution. Here is a list of emulators:
-Nulldc(Dreamcast)
-MameUI32(arcade)
-Stella(Atari)
-NO$GBA(GBA/DS)
-Fusion( several Sega systems)
-Gens32 Surreal (several Sega systems)
-Project64(N64)
-FCEUX(NES)
-PCSX(Playstation)
-Yabause(Saturn)
-Zsnesw(SNES)
and there are many more to choose from.

The pirates tool belt... Pirates have tool belts?
Here are some tools for you pirates out there:
-Winrar- The holy grail. Many files are zipped in the RAR format, and this is the tool you need. Also unzips ZIP files.
-Veoh Player- Veoh is the best video site ever! And with their video player, it is even better!
-Ask Audio and Video Recorder- I was looking so hard for a recorder for audio, and I found a video downloader too! This is made by Applian tech, and it has no crap files (viruses, etc.), which at first I was skeptical at first about, but it does not.
-Bittorrent- I like this one because it is lightweight, and it only downloads they files I download, and does not display other content. It is deffinently helpful, unless you want to wade through all the useless non-torrent sites. But, be warned that the viruses you contract from torrents are smarter than your average virus, so don't use it on your prized computer, because it is really hard to deal with those viruses. (Trust me, it is no fun
)
Mame-I know you may not like arcade games, but there are alot of good games compatible with this, so it might be a good idea to get it.
And a few more things, a slew of emulators (I will go through them all in a seperate article), a slew of converters ( I would suggest any video converter, and audio pack, and besides that, I have no time), and CBR viewer for you comic fans. ( Matter of fact most of the comics here are CBR format), so download and enjoy.
